- Improved decision making
- Effective communication
- Reduced project risk
A dedicated entity striving to break the cycle of individuals repeatedly entering the justice system due to a lack of support for transformative change called upon Sensei’s expertise. The organisation operates within a broad spectrum, offering services ranging from mental health and addiction treatment to intensive residential support, housing, and employment assistance. Their initiatives span the entire justice continuum, encompassing prevention and rehabilitation. However, they encountered challenges stemming from disparate data systems, hindering their ability to efficiently manage strategic projects and provide stakeholders with real-time visibility into project progress.
The organisation was dealing with a fractured data landscape and quickly realised that they needed a centralised system to oversee their strategic projects consistently and flexibly. Dealing with data that was tracked in different systems, this organisation lacked visibility with project performance and governance control. This led to delays in consolidation of information, therefore impacting effective decision-making and communication.
Sensei assisted with these challenges by implementing Microsoft Project for the Web (PftW) along with the PftW Solution Starter, Power BI reporting capabilities and configurations that were customised specifically for our client. This resulted in a structured approach to communication and data sharing, fostering transparency between project managers, executive management, and other project stakeholders.
The adoption of Microsoft Project for the Web brought several benefits to this organisation:
1. Improved Communication: Project managers found it easier to communicate project progress to stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment with strategic objectives.
2. Real-time Information: Executive management gained access to up-to-date project status information, enabling them to make informed decisions promptly.
3. Cost Savings: The system provided early warning indicators of projects at risk, facilitating swift corrective actions to prevent cost overruns.
4. Time Efficiency: Real-time project data minimised the risk of project time overruns, allowing for timely interventions to keep projects on schedule.
The implementation of Microsoft Project for the Web and associated tools not only saved this organisation time and money but also set the stage for future organisational growth and improved project management maturity. There is potential to expand this system to accommodate evolving needs as the organisation expands.
