Role Overview:

Sensei is a well-regarded, Gold-certified Microsoft partner on a steady path of growth over the past 3 years. We have a proud history of delivering outstanding project and portfolio management outcomes and productivity solutions for high-profile clients across Australia and around the world. 

Reporting to the Vision Director and as part of our National Sales and Marketing team, this role will be accountable for the presales approach of our business, and effective support for our sales team. You will get involved in a variety of presales initiatives, including tender responses, proposal generation, requirements analysis, estimating, and documentation. Your role will be to work with the Sensei Client Executive as well as the client to understand the business drivers and requirements of prospective and existing clients and craft an appropriate solution focussing on client outcomes balanced against budget considerations or technology limitations.  On acceptance of the proposal, you will be expected to deliver a comprehensive hand-over including assumptions and expectations to the Delivery team charged with delivering the proposed solution. Your remit is to showcase how a client can reach the maximum value in what we provide them; you should be asking yourself throughout any given response questions like “does this proposal resolve the client’s identified pain points?”, “are we putting our best foot forward in this response?”, and “how will the client realise value in what we are proposing?”.   

What your day may include:

  • Sales
    • Assist our sales team in a variety of presales initiatives.
    • Take ownership of tender responses, RFQs/RFPs/RFIs, proposals, and certain presales collateral. 
    • Understand the value proposition of what we provide and what we are aspiring to provide as part of an engagement. 
    • Analyse a sales brief effectively – understand what the client wants to achieve, and work with specialists to estimate that outcome accordingly. 
    • Facilitate pre-sales workshops to elicit all business requirements and priorities of prospective and existing clients.
    • Come up with a solution and lead the client towards understanding the most valuable roadmap forward for them.
    • Bring in other parties to assist with responses when required. 
    • Submit your responses for internal review. 
    • Be accountable for the solution and clearly communicate all assumptions made in arriving at final estimates.  
    • Over time, develop a deep technical understanding of the way our solutions work, what their strengths/weaknesses are, and how they can provide value to a client.
    • Present Sensei to partners, including Microsoft, showcasing our solutions and client outcomes;
    • Provide pre-sales support to partners, including Microsoft.
  • Administration
    • Curate professional proposals inline with Sensei’s branding and approval processes.
    • Provide a comprehensive handover to the delivery team responsible for delivering your solution, including all assumptions made on approach and expected outcomes.
  • Marketing
    • Contribute content as required.
    • Actively promote the Sensei brand and its services.
    • Assist in driving campaigns and marketing activities in line with marketing strategy.

Sound interesting? Here’s the key skills set you’ll need to qualify:

  • 5 years+ experience within a similar role, preferably within IT and Professional Services ecosystem.
  • Superior communication, analytical and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate client needs into requirements and document this for the client.
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of a variety of Microsoft products, and an aptitude for learning the way we work. 

Highly Desirable – Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Understanding of project management principles and Project Portfolio Management tools or a willingness to become skilled in these. A foundation in business or productivity solutions is an advantage. 
  • Exposure to Microsoft applications including Power Apps, Project Online/Server, Office 365 or an ability to learn them.
